Range Rover Evoque 5 Door
As it would have been very difficult to miss, Land Rover dropped a huge amount of bumph on us the other day about the Range Rover Evoque. Mind you, even though we got a huge press release which ran to more pages than we cared to count, and a pile of new photos including interiors for the first time, there’s still a chunk of detail missing. We don’t for example have performance figures, much beyond a 7.1 second 0-60 mph for the 238bhp EcoBoost Evoque.
Honda has released the first official images of the Prius-fighting Honda Insight, which is due to launch in the New Year at the Detroit Motor Show, and be in UK Car showrooms in the Spring of 2009. Honda has been sceptical about the future of the Hybrid/Electric car, and has expressed the view that it believes the long term future lies in Hydrogen powered EVs, rather than EVs per se. But this is a sensible move by Honda to take away sales from the Toyota Prius.

Porschephiles look away now – Porsche has just confirmed it will build its first diesel. The Cayenne SUV gains derv power in 2009 and will put Porsche in the unique position of having hybrid, petrol and diesel models in the same 4x4 range.The Cayenne diesel will use a VW sourced engine. And, no, it's not the Touareg’s 5.0-litre V10.
